Problems in self-care, nutrition and elimination are other disorders often seen with this patient population.Behavioral disorders and dependence in sustaining life that patients with diagnosed Alzheimer consequently present result in changes in roles within the family. These changes have negative impact on family members, when the patient is in need of their support. Costs incurred by diagnostic procedures, treatment and care are other potential factors that create burden on family members. Besides, family members may develop chronic fatigue, anger, conflicts, loss of social environment and depression. These problems caused by the patients for family members may impair the means of using a good patient-family relationship, social and financial support and proper coping methods. This article focuses on the communication among Alzheimer patients and members of their families.
