Radiological criteria and choice for radiological technique in the determination of implant sites before operation

Abstract
Dental implants success depends on the formation of osseointegration. Successful osseointegration requires the implant site to be of sufficient height, width and density to accommodate implant placement without violating adjacent anatomical structures. Diagnostic imaging plays an important role in evaluating the dental implant patients. Indications for the most frequently used imaging modalities in implant planning are based on clinical need and biologic risk for the patient. In this article, the importance of radiological criteria and choice of radiological technique in dental implant application has been emphasized.
Özet
Dental implantların başarısı, implant ve kemiğin bütünlük sağlaması (osteointegrasyon) ile mümkündür. Osteointegrasyonun başarısı ise; implant yerleştirilecek bölgedeki mevcut kemik yüksekliği, genişliği, yoğunluğu ve komşu anatomik oluşumlara olan uzaklığıyla ilgilidirğ Diagnostik radyoloji dental implant hastalarının değerlendirilmesinde önemli bir yere sahiptirğ Hastaların klinik gereksinimi ve biyolojik riski, implant planlamasında kullanılacak görüntüleme tekniklerini belirler. Bu makalede, dental implant uygulamalarında radyolojik kriterlerin ve radyolojik teknik seçiminin önemi vurgulanmıştır.
