Application of esthetic posts in endodontically treated teeth

Abstract

The restoration of endodontically treated teeth is one of the most challenging and risky procedure in dental practice. So far, various restorative methods and post systems have been utilized for these types of restorations. The aims of using these systems; providing enough retantion to the core structure by using the right post systems beside esthetics of final fixed restoration. The aim of this review is to evaluate the esthetic post systems used for the restoration of endodontically treated teeth.

Endodontik tedavili dişlerin post ve kor sistemleri ile restorasyonu diş hekimliği pratiğindeki en riskli işlemlerden biridir. Günümüze dek, aşırı madde kaybına uğramış endodontik tedavili dişler farklı restoratif yöntemlerle restore edilmeye çalışılmış ve değişik post sistemleri denenmiştir. Bu sistemleri kullanmanın amacı; final sabit restorasyonun estetiği yanında doğru post sistemini kullanarak kor materyaline yeterli retansiyon sağlanmasıdır. Bu derlemenin amacı, endodontik tedavili dişlerin restorasyonunda kullanılan estetik post sistemlerini genel olarak değerlendirmektir.
