Abstract

Aim : The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectof denture cleansers on the color stability of long -termsoft denture lining materials. Materials and Method: Two different silicone softining materials (Elite Soft and Ufi Gel P) and 3different denture cleansers [Corega Tabs, Fittydent,0.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl)] were used in thisstudy and distilled water was served as control group.Forty disc -shaped specimens, with 10 mm in diameterand 1 mm in thicknes s were fabricated from each softining material (n=10). CIE L*a*b* values ofspecimens were recorded with a spectrophotometerand then specimens were randomly divided into 4groups according to the cleaning protocol. All of thespecimens were immersed in denture cleansers for 8hours, then washed under running water and afterthat stored in distilled water for 16 hours. Thisprocedure was repeated for 96 days; every 3 dayswere considered as 1 week and thus 6-month ofusage was simulated. Color measurements wererepeated at the end of 48 and 96 (Nokta kaldırılsın)days and color differences (ΔE) were calculated. Özet

Amaç: Bu çalıĢmanın amacı uzun süreli silikon esaslıyumuĢak astar maddelerinin renk stabiliteleri üzerinefarklı protez temizleyicilerinin etkilerinin değerlen -dirilmesidir.Materyal ve Metod: Bu çalıĢmada 2 farklı silikonesaslı yumuĢak astar maddesi (Elite Soft ve Ufi Gel P)ile 3 farklı protez temizleyicisi [Corega Tabs, Fittydent,% 0.5 sodyum hipoklorit (NaOCl)] test edilmiĢ; distilesu kontrol grubu olarak kullanılmıĢtır. Her yumuĢak as-tar maddesinden 10 mm çapında ve 1 mm kalınlığındatoplam 40 adet disk Ģeklinde örnek hazırlanmıĢtır(n=10). Protez temizleyicisine maruz bırakılmadanönce tüm örneklerin CIE L*a*b* değerleri spektrofo-tometre ile tespit edilmiĢtir. Uygulanacak temizlemeprosedürüne göre rastgele 4 ayrı gruba ayrılan örnek-ler 8 saat protez temizleyicisine maruz bırakılmıĢ dahasonra akan suda yıkanarak 16 saat boyunca distile su -da bekletilmiĢtir. Bu iĢlem 96 gün boyunca tekrar-lanmıĢ; her 3 günlük periyot 1 hafta olarak kabul edil -miĢ ve böylece 6 aylık kullanım simüle edilmiĢtir. Renkölçümleri sırasıyla 3 ve 6 ayı simüle eden, 48. ve 96.günün sonunda tekrarlanmıĢtır.
