Determination of Phytopathological Problems and Producer Practices in Greenhouse Tomato Cultivation in Muğla Province

Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the cultivation experiences of the producers performing greenhouse tomato cultivation in the Seydikemer, Fethiye and Ortaca districts in Muğla province, where intense tomato cultivation is realized, as well as the phytopathological problems they faced, their knowledge levels on plant protection practices and their tendencies in the use of pesticides. For this purpose, a 55-question survey was applied to 100 producers who carried out greenhouse tomatoes cultivation and were randomly selected based on the simple random sampling method in 2019 by conducting face-to-face interview and their answers were assessed. According to the results, it was determined that 85% of the producers were primary school graduates, they preferred mostly polyethylene (61%) greenhouses, and they were cultivating for many years in small-scale family businesses, generally ranging between 1-2 decares. It was determined that they cultivated primarily tomatoes (51%) as well as cucumbers (19%), eggplants (17%) and beans (13%) in these greenhouses. It was determined that the producers chose the varieties themselves or according to the recommendation of the pesticide dealer, all of the producers were using field ready seedlings and 73% started production with field ready ungrafted seedlings. Based on the survey data, it was found that the producers considered that chemical control was required (59%), they decided on the chemical control in line with their own knowledge, they paid attention to the effectiveness of the pesticides (94%), they mixed the pesticides, they sprayed them regularly against fungal diseases (60%), and they paid attention to the waiting time of the pesticides (97%).
Özet
Kentsel donatı elemanlarını, kullanıcılara konfor alanı sağlama, toplumun refah düzeyini artırma, dinlenme, barınma, etkinliklere katılma, bilgilendirme ve dolaşım yapma gibi gereksinimlerini yerine getirecek şekilde konumlandırılan birimler olarak ifade etmek mümkündür. Bu çalışmada Kafkas Üniversitesi merkez kampüsü içerisinde bulunmakta olan kentsel donatı elemanları irdelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda akademik personel ve öğrencilere yönelik 246 kişilik bir anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Uygulama ile kullanıcıların donatıları işlevsellik, dayanıklılık, algılanabilirlik, estetik, ergonomik, güvenlik ve mekân kimliği kriterleri bakımından yeterliliklerini ortaya koymak amacıyla değerlendirmeleri talep edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak bulgular ve analizler kapsamında donatı elemanlarının mevcut durumları saptanmış ve problemlerin çözümüne ilişkin dikkate alınması gerekli öneriler getirilmiştir.
