Abstract

This study, in which Der-Saadet (Istanbul) Non-Commissioned OfficerInfantry School (Piyade Küçük Zabit Mektebi) and Non-Commissioned Officer ElementarySchool (Küçük Zabit İptidai Mektebi) are examined, focuses particularly on where and howthese schools were founded. After explaining the acceptance process and terms of entrance inthese schools, a separate heading is dedicated to the academic activities where necessaryinformation can be found concerning lessons, the first graduates and the first graduationceremony. Short information on the names, photographs and biographies of the first graduatesare included in the Appendix.Administrative organization, managers and instructors of the school are examined undera separate heading. In this part, identities of the school commander, company commanders andinstructors are presented following some information about the administrative organization ofthe school. Moreover, the uniforms of the students are explained, and information is given aboutthe student allowances, types of punishment given to students and the cases in which dismissalprocesses were carried out.This study also deals with the topics such as handing the color over to the regiment ofmilitary students, situation of the school in World War I, and closing of the school.

Der-Saadet (İstanbul) Piyade Küçük Zabit ve Küçük Zabit İptidai Mekteplerininincelendi ğ i bu çal ı ş mada öncelikle söz konusu okulları n nerede ve nas ı l açı ldı ğ ı üzerindedurulmaktad ı r. Okula kayı t - kabul i ş lemleri ve giri ş ş artları ile ilgili hususlar belirtildikten sonraayrı bir ba ş l ı k altı nda e ğ itim ve ö ğ retim faaliyetleri ele al ı narak okutulan dersler, ilk mezunlar veilk diploma töreni hakkı nda bilgi verilmektedir. İlk mezunları n isimleri ve foto ğ rafları ilehakları ndaki kı sa bilgiler çal ı ş man ı n EK bölümünde yer almaktadı r.Okulun idari te ş kilatı , idarecileri ve ö ğ retmenleri ayrı bir ba ş l ı k altı nda incelenmektedir.Bu bölümde okulun idari te ş kilatı hakk ı nda bilgi verildikten sonra okul komutan ı , bölükkomutanları ve ders ö ğ retmenlerinin kimlik bilgileri üzerinde durulmaktad ı r. Ayrı ca ö ğ rencilerinkı l ı k kı yafetlerinin nas ı l oldu ğ u açı klanmakta, ö ğrenci harçl ı kları ve ö ğ rencilere verilen cezalar ilehangi durumlarda okuldan ayrı lma i ş lemlerinin yap ı ld ı ğ ı hakkı nda bilgi verilmektedir.Çal ı ş mada ö ğ renci alay ı na sancak verilmesi, Birinci Dünya Sava ş ı döneminde okulundurumu ve okulun kapatı lmas ı ile ilgili hususlara da yer verilmi ş tir.
