TRADITIONAL CLOTHES LOCATED AT THE BİTLİS ETHNOGRAPHICAL MUSEUM

Abstract

This work aims to introduce the textiles, colours, ornamental and technichal characteristics of thetraditional clothes that are being exhibited at the Bitlis Ethnographical Museum. In this respect, afterthe necessary permits were gotten from the authorities, the photographs of the clothes that areexhibited in museum vitrines and protected in the museum storerooms were photographed, theirmeasurements were taken to determine their characteristics, and the material and ornamentalcharacteristics were studied. The clothes that were found could not be classified in detail as therepertoire of traditional clothes located at the museum was not rich enough and the clothes did notreflect all the elements of traditional Bitlis clothes. Instead, the clothes were classified as femaledresses, male dresses and common (unisex) dresses. As a result of the research, it was seen that themuseum does not contain all the elements of traditional Bitlis clothes, the examples that werepresent were not exhibited and stored under suitable conditions, no works of conservation orrestoration were being conducted, and the inventory lists were not recorded correctly.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, Bitlis Etnografya Müzesinde sergilenmekte olan geleneksel giysilerin kumaş, renk,süsleme ve teknik özelliklerinin tanıtımı amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ilgili makamlardanyazılı izin alınarak müze vitrinlerinde sergilenmekte olan ve depolarda koruma altına alınan giysilerinfotoğrafları çekilmiş, gerekli ölçümleri yapılarak teknik özellikleri belirlenmiş, hammadde ve süslemeözellikleri incelenmiştir. Müzede bulunan geleneksel giysi örnekleri yeterince zengin olmadığından veBitlis yöresinin tüm geleneksel giyim unsurlarını yansıtmadığından, tespit edilen giysiler ayrıntılıolarak sınıflandırılamamış, kadın giysileri, erkek giysileri ve ortak giyilen giysiler şeklinde sınıflandırmayapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, müzede Bitlis yöresinin tüm geleneksel giyim unsurlarınınbulunmadığı, bulunan örneklerin de uygun sergileme ve depolama şartlarında olmadığı, restorasyonve konservasyon çalışmalarının yapılmadığı, envanter kayıtlarının yeterince düzgün tutulmadığıgörülmüştür.
