A RESEARCH ON MODERN PERIOD DOUBLE BASS PIECES WRITTEN BY ITALIAN COMPOSERS

İTALYAN BESTECİLERİNİN MODERN DÖNEM KONTRBAS ESERLERİ ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Abstract

The aim of modern art is to write, draw, and compose more with intellect than emotions. Italy is one of the first countries that comes into mind when double bass literature on classical music is being considered. Many pieces on double bass have been produced by italian composers in the modern period. Although modern period is one of the most important periods for double bass literature, the double bass pieces from 20th century to date are not broadly known in our country. Thus, the aim of this research is to define these pieces, make a directory, and provide support to double bass education. In this study, literature search was used as a method to identify the italian composers who had written double bass pieces during the modern period and the types of double bass pieces that were produced. Internet sources and international articles had been scanned and benefitted from. Overall, 141 pieces written after 1900 had been found which were grouped into double bass concerto’s, method/study books, double bass pieces solo or with piano/orchestra on little platforms had been analyzed. From this study, it has been established that the double bass pieces composed by italiancomposers have contributed significantly to the literature in terms of quality and diversity, the period composers produced many pieces, and these pieces vary in a broad spectrum.

Modern sanatın amacı, duygulardan çok akılla yazmak, resmetmek ve bestelemektir. İtalya, klasik müzikkontrbas literatüründe akla ilk gelen ülkelerden biridir. İtalyan besteciler tarafından modern dönemdekontrbas için çok sayıda eser üretilmiştir. Modern dönem, kontrbas literatürü açısından oldukça önemlidönemlerden biri olmakla birlikte, 20. yüzyıldan günümüze kadar olan kontrbas eserleri ülkemizde pektanınmamaktadır. Bu eserleri belirlemek, bir dizin oluşturmak ve kontrbas eğitimine katkı sağlamakamacıyla bu araştırma yapılmıştır.Bu çalışmada Modern dönemde kontrbas için eser yazan İtalyan besteciler ve eserlerinin neler olduğusorusuna yanıt aranmış; Bu kapsamda eserlerin belirlenmesi için kaynak tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır.Uluslararası yayınlar taranmış ve internet kaynaklarından yararlanılmıştır.Araştırmada 1900 yılı sonrası yazılmış ve ulaşılabilen 141 eserden, kontrbas konçertoları, metot /etütkitapları, küçük formda bestelenmiş solo kontrbas ve piyano/orkestra eşlikli eserler gruplandırılarakincelenmiştir. İtalyan bestecilerin kontrbas eserlerinin nicelik ve çeşitlilik açısından literatüre önemlikatkıda bulunduğu, dönemin bestecilerinin çok sayıda eser ürettiği ve bu eserlerin geniş bir perspektiftedağılım gösterdiği belirlenmiştir.
