TECHNICAL AND INTERIOR USE PROPERTIES OF HEREKE CARPET

Abstract

Weaving has been an art branch that has been given importance by Turks from Central Asia to Anatolia, from past to present. Silk and woollen fabrics, known for their unmatched artistic value and richness, have been extraordinarily developed and spread over time. Carpet, which has an important place in weaving art, was introduced and brought to the world by the Turks. The oldest known Turkish rugs are exhibited in the world's leading museums today. Carpet art, which started to spread from the East to the West with the Seljuks since the 11th century, has turned towards production rather than being an art branch as well as being a cultural heritage in which people express their feelings in Anatolia and developed as a weaving industry in time. Among the palace carpets, Hereke carpet has gained an important place in the Turkish carpet history in terms of production. Although there are few academic studies on the technical features of Hereke carpets, there is insufficient information about the use of these carpets indoors and especially in foreign examples. In this study, first of all information about Turkish rugs and Hereke it demonstrated the historical process in the emergence of a history reference and Turkey were examined through examples of the use of space inside the world and the resulting Hereke carpet interior design and its effects on carpet art of carpet.

Özet

Dokumacılık Türkler tarafından Orta Asya’dan Anadolu’ya, geçmişten günümüze dek önem verilen birsanat kolu olmuştur. Eşsiz sanat değeri ve zenginliği ile tanınan ipekli ve yünlü dokumalar zaman içindeolağanüstü bir şekilde gelişmiş ve yayılmıştır. Dokuma sanatında önemli bir yer tutan halı ise Türklertarafından Dünyaya tanıtılmış ve kazandırılmıştır. Bilinen en eski Türk halıları günümüzde Dünyanın öndegelen müzelerinde sergilenmektedir. 11. yüzyıldan itibaren Selçuklular ile birlikte Doğudan Batıya doğruyayılmaya başlayan halı sanatı Anadolu’da halkın duygularını dışa vurduğu kültürel bir miras olmanın yanısıra sanat kolu olmaktan ziyade üretime yönelmiş ve zamanla dokumacılık endüstrisi olarak gelişmegöstermiştir. Saray halıları içinde Hereke halısı üretim açısından Türk halı tarihinde önemli bir yeredinmiştir. Hereke halılarının teknik özellikleri ile ilgili yazılı akademik çalışmalar az sayıda olmakla beraberbu halıların iç mekânda kullanımına ve özellikle de yurtdışı örneklerde kullanımına ilişkin bilgiler yetersizdir.Bu çalışmada öncelikle Türk halı sanatı hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve Hereke halısının tarihsel süreçte ortayaçıkış öyküsüne değinilerek Türkiye ve Dünyada iç mekânda kullanımı örnekler üzerinden incelenmiş vesonuçta Hereke halısının iç mekânın tasarımı ve halı sanatına etkileri ortaya konmuştur.
