Abstract
The earlies studies in Yazılıkaya/Midas Valley started with the examination of the monuments in thevalley by W. M. Leake. Today, the valley is mostly known for the Phrygian, Hellenistic and Romanperiods. However, contrary to popular belief, surveys conducted in recent years revealed that theregion had also been inhabited in prehistoric times. With the studies carried out, new informationabout earlier periods such as Paleolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Bronze Age has been reached.Especially with the surveys and archaeological excavations carried out in the region in recent years,it is aimed to make periodic distinctions by evaluating the chipped stone finds, which have notbeen studied much before, in this study. In addition to the chipped stone finds obtained from set tlements such as Keçiçayırı, Kanlıtaş Höyük, Orman Nursery, Höyüktepe, Seyitömer, Küllüoba in theregion, the chipped stone finds obtained through surveys were re-evaluated in this study. With thechipped stone finds evaluated, it has been understood that there are many groups of finds from thePaleolithic Age to the Early Bronze Age in the region.
