Abstract
A pyloroduedenal duplication cyst is an extremely rare congenital anomaly in neonates and young infants; only a few cases have been reported. This is a case report concerning a 17-month-old patient with a pyloroduedenal duplication cyst. In the case, intermittent vomiting was the presenting symptom of the disease. Contrast swallow enhancement computed tomography provided correct preoperative diagnosis showing a pyloric compression caused by pyloroduedenal duplication cyst. Histopathologic evaluation confirmed the cystic pyloroduedenal duplication and also showed a focus of the ectopic parietal cells in the common muscular wall. The special interest in this case report lies in the extremely low incidence of pyloroduedenal duplication cyst and presentation age is distinctive from the cases present in the literature.
