İnvestigations on nematodes of alimentary canal in hair goats in Elazığ

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalance of nematodes in hair goats in Elazığ region between September 1995 and August 1996. In this period, alimentary canal (from oesophagus to rectum) of 1 or 2 goats obtained from the municipal slaughterhause were brought into the laboratory each week and examined for the presence of nematods. Along the year, 40 kids and 40 adult goats were examined. In the first step, feces was taken out from the material brought in to the laboratory and the presence of nematode eggs was searched by using the flotation method. The nematodes were collected into 0.9 % physiological saline and fixed in the 70 % alcohol at boiling point. The transparency of nematodes were obtained b the treating with lactophenol, and type descriptions were done via microscopical examination. All of the goats examined (100 %) were found to be infected bv various types of nematodes. A total number of 34888 nematodes were determined in young goats. The type of the nematodes found with the minimum number was T.davtiani (2), whereas the txpe detected with the maximum number was O.circumcicnta (12730). In the adult goats. Trichostrongvlus longispicularis was the type represented by the minimum number (2) and Ostertagia circumcincta was represented by the maximum number (35291). The number of nematodes determined in adult goats was 71238. The listing of determined 29 nematode types according to their prevalance were as follows : Gongylonema pulchrum 14 (17.50 %), Ostertagia circumcincta 72 (90.0 %), O.occidentalis 51 (63.75 %), O.trifurcata 53 (66.25 %), O.ostertagi 22 (27.50 %), O.lyrata 6 (7.50 %), Marshallagia marshalii 61 (76.25 %), Teladorsagia davtiani 12 (15.0 %), Haemonchus contortus 24 (30.0 %), 1'arabronema skrjabini 32 (40.0 %), Trichostrongvlus axel 4 (5.0 %), T.vitrinus 15 (18.75 %). T.capricola, T.probolurus, T.colubriformis 6 (7.50 %), T.longispicularis 1 (1.25 %), Nematodirus abnormalis, N.spathiger 46 (57.50 %), N.filicollis 21 (26.25 %), N.lanceolatus 1 (1.25 %), Bunostomum trigonocephalum 8 (10.0 %), Strongyloides papillosus 7 (8.75 %), Capillaria bovis 4 (5.0 %), Trichuris ovis 49 (61.25 %), T.discolor 14 (17.50 %), T.skrjabini 29 (36.25 %), Skrjabinemaovis7(8.75%),Chabertiaovina47(58.75%)and Oesophagostomum venulosum 16 (20.0 %).

Özet

Bu çalışma, 1995 Eylül-1996 Ağustos ayları arasında yapılmıştır. Elazığ yöresi kıl keçilerinde sindirim kanalı nematodlannı araştırmak üzere her hafta Elazığ mezbahasına gidilerek bir veya iki hayvanın öz.ofagus rektum arası sindirim kanalını içeren organları alınmıştır. Araştırmada 40 genç ve 40 erişkin keçi incelenmiştir. Uıboratuvarda önce rektumdan alınan dışkıda flotasyon yöntemiyle nematod yumurtaları aranmıştır. Toplanan nematodlar % 0.9 'luk tuzlu suda temizlendikten sonra kaynama noktasında % 70'Vık etil alkolde tesbit edilmiş ve laktofenolde şeffadlandırılmıştır. Mikroskobik ve makroskobik inceleme sonucunda 80 keçinin tamamının (% 100) değişik nematod türleriyle enfekte oldukları görülmüştür. Genç keçilerde sayıca en az bulunan tür Teladorsagia davtiani (2 adet), en çok bulunan tür Ostertagia circumcincta (12730 adet) olarak belirlenmiş ve bu hayvanların tamamından 34888 nematod toplanmıştır. Erişkin keçilerde en az bulunan tür Trichostrongylus longispicularis (2 adet), en çok bulunan tür Ostertagia circumcincta (35291 adet) olmuş ve bunların tamamından da 71238 adet nematod toplanmıştır. Keçilerin 14 (% 17.50)'ünde Gongylonema pulchrum, 72 (%90.0)'sinde Ostertagia circumcincta, 53 (%66.25)'ünde O.trifürcata, 51 (%63.75)'inde O.occidentalis, 22 (%27.50)'sinde O.ostertagi, 6 (%7.50)'sında O.lyrata, 61 (o/c76.25)'inde Marshallagia marshtılli, 12 (% 15.0)'sinde Teladorsagia davtiani, 24 (%30.0)'ünde Haemonchus contortus, 32 (%40.0)'sinde Parabronema skrjabini, 15 (% 18.75)'inde Trichostrongylus vitrinus, 6 (%7.50)'sında T.capricola, T.probolurus ve T.colubriförmis, 4 (%5.0)'ünde T.axel, 1 (%1.25)'inde T.longispicularis, 46 (%57.50)'sında Nematodirus abnormalis ve N.spathiger, 21 (%26.25)'inde N.filicollis, 1 (% 1.25)'inde N.lanceolatus, 8 (% 10.0)'inde Bunostomum trigonocephalum, 7 (%8.75)'sinde Strongyloides papillosus, 4 (%5.0)'ünde Capillaria bovis, 49 (%61.25)'unda Trichuris ovis, 29 (%36.25)'unda T.skrjabini, 14 (%J7.5O)'ünde T.discolor, 7 (%8.75)'sinde Skrjabinema ovis, 47 (%58.75)'sinde Chabertia ovina ve 16 (%20.0)'sında Oesophagostomum venulosum olmak üzere 29 tür belirlenmiştir.
