Identification and antimicrobial sensitivity of microorganisms isolated from otitic dogs

Abstract

In this study microbiological examination of the materials from clogs with clinical otitis externa was aimed. Microorganisms were isolated from 79 (97.5 %) of 81 otitic dogs in this present study. Among these microorganisms Staphvlococcus aureus was the most isolated one in number (46.9 %).This microorganism was followed by Malassezia pachydermatis (21.6 %), Psudomonas spp. (9.6%), S. epidermidis (7.2 %), Proteus spp. (4.8%), Escherichia coli (2.4%), Streptococcus spp. (2.4%), Candida spp. (2.4%), Pasteurella spp. (1.2%) and Citrobacter spp. (1.2%) respectively. The percentage of microorganisms susceptible to antibiotics below are as follows: 44.4 % to gentamycin, 44.4 % to tet racy dine, 34.9 % to spiramycin, 26.9% to ampicillin, 65.55 % to cephalosporin, 20.6 % to lincomycine and 82.5 % to enrofloxacine. As a result, otitis externa is more common in long haired and pendulous eared dogs than other breeds and the increased number of S.aureus and M.pachydermatis isolation takes care.

Bu çalışmada, otitis eksternah köpeklerden cuman materyallerin mikrobiyolojik muayeneleri ve izole edilen bakteriye! etkenlerin antibiyotiklere duyarlılıklarının belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Çalışmada, 81 otitisli köpeğin 79 (%97.5)'undan izolasyon yapıldı. Bu mikroorganizmalar arasında en yüksek oranda Staphylococcus aureus (% 46.9) izole edildi. Bu mikroroganizmayı sırasıyla Malassezia pachydermatis (%21.6), Pseudomonas spp. (%9.6), S.epidermidis (%7.2), Proteus spp. (4.8), E.coli (%2.4), Streptococcus spp. (%2.4), Candida spp. (%2.4), Pasteurella spp. (%1.2), ve Citrobacter spp. (%1.2) izledi. izole edilen bakterilerin %44.4'ü gentamisine, %44.4'ü tetrasikline, %34.9'ü spiramisine, %26.9'ü ampisiline, %65.5'i sefalosporine, %20.6'sı imkomisine ve %82.5'i enrofloksasine duyarlı bulundu. Sonuç olarak, otitis eksternanın uzun tüylü ve sarkık kulaklı köpeklerde daha yaygın olduğu ve materyallerden S.aureus ve M. pachydermatis'in yüksek oranda izolasyonu dikkat çekici bulundu.
