Abstract

Although the pelvic region is well covered with muscles and soft tissues, the fractures of the bones of this region frequently occur. This fractures are generally caused by direct traumas. Because the stabilization of the pelvic girdle is broken significantly in multiple pelvic fractures, development of the complications which can be observed in pelvic fractures is possible. For this reason, open reduction and internal fixation are always indications in multiple pelvic fractures. The material of this study, male, 3 years old, Ankara cat brought to the Clinics of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ankara University, suffering from lameness left rare limb and falling from high. In the results of radiographic evaluations, multiple pelvic fractures were diagnosed. The cat was operated after the treatment of traumatic schock. The stabilization and fixation of left os coxae fractures were made by placing the 9 holed mini titanium plates which was bent according to the pelvic contour and 7 mini titanium screws. The clinical and radiological examinations were performed after the operation and there wasn't any complication after the operation and desired therapy results were observed.
