Giant mastoid abscess: Report of 2 cases

Abstract
Acute otitis media (AOM) is a disease which is commonly seen by family physicians, pediatriciansand otorhinolaryngologists. After the widespread use of antibiotics the complications of AOM sig- nificantly decreased. In this study, two different cases of giant mastoid abscess encountered withintwo weeks are presented with radiological findings and treatment modalities. Approach to the mas- toid abscess is discussed with the literature on the subject.
Özet
Akut otitis media (AOM) günümüzde aile hekimlerinin, pediatristlerin ve kulak burun boğazuzmanlarının sık karşılaştığı bir hastalıktır. Özellikle antibiyotik kullanımının yaygınlaşmasından son- ra AOM komplikasyonları önemli oranda azalmıştır. Bu çalışmada iki hafta ara ile karşılaştığımız ikifarklı dev mastoid abse olgusu klinik, radyolojik bulguları ve tedavi yaklaşımlarıyla birlikte sunuldu.Mastoid abseye yaklaşım literatür eşliğinde tartışıldı.
