The observation of the effect of cigarette smoking on the periodontal tissues

Abstract

The aim of this study is to observe the effect of cigarette smoking on the periodontal tissues. This study is performed at 25 smoking students whose ages are 19 to 23 and 25 nonsmoking students whose ages are 17 to 22 at Gülhane military medical academy of nursery college (GMMA-NC). Bu çalışmanın amacı sigara içmenin perio-dontal dokular üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Çalışma GATA yüksek hemşirelik okulundaki yaşları 17 ile 23 arasında değişen sigara içmeyen 25 öğrenci ile, yaşları 19 ile 23 arasında değişen sigara içen 25 öğrencide gerçekleştirilmiştir. De¬neklerde gingival indeks (GI), plak indeksi (PI), periodontal cep derinliği ve cep sıvısı miktarı öl¬çümleri değerlendirilmiştir.
