The effect of one-bottle adhesives on penetration depth of fissur sealants

Abstract

The aim of this study is investigating the effects of one-bottle of adhesive containing ace ton (Prime & Bond 2.1, Dentsply, Germany) as a solvent and one-bottle adhesive containing ethanol (OptiBond Solo, Kerr, U.S.A), to fissur sealants penetration depth. For this purpose, 30 newly extracted noncarious sound 1.mandibular molar teeth were used. Teeth were sectioned into 3 groups randomly. Fissure sealants was applied to 10 teeth in group 1 by using conventional method. (Fissurit, Voco, Germany) In group 2 fissure sealant was applied to 10 teeth using one-bottle adhesive that OptiBond Solo. To 10 teeth which were in group 3, fissure sealant was applied after using Prime & Bond 2.1 as an adhesive. Sections taken from the samples were examined in polarized light microscopy. As a result it was observed that the usage of Prime & Bond 2.1 increased the penetration dept of fissure sealant and OptiBond Solo and the control groups followed this result respectively

Bu çalışmanın amacı çözücü olarak aseton içeren bir tek şişe adheziv (Prime & Bond 2.1,Dentsply, Germany) ile etanol içeren bir tek şişe adhezivin (OptiBond Solo, Kerr, U.S.A) fissür sealat penetrasyon derinliğine olan etkisinin incelenmesidir. Bu amaçla 30 adet yeni çekilmiş çürüksüz, restorasyonsuz l.mandibular molar diş kullanıldı. Dişler rastgele 3 gruba ayrıldı. Grup 1'deki 10 dişe geleneksel yöntem ile fissür sealant uygulandı (Fissürit, Voco, Germany) Grup 2'deki 10 dişe Optibond Solo tek şişe adheziv uygulanarak fissür sealant tatbik edildi. Grup 3'deki 10 dişe de adheziv olarak Prime & Bond 2.1 uygulandıktan sonra fissür sealant yapıldı. Örneklerden alınan kesitler polarize ışık mikroskobunda incelendi. Sonuç olarak Prime & Bond 2.1 uygulamasının fissür sealant penetrasyon derinliğini arttırdığı, bunu sırası ile OptiBond Solo ve kontrol gruplarının takip ettiği gözlendi
