Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how a resin modified glass ionomer cement and polyacid modified glass resin composite is effected from ultrasonic sealing treatment. For this purpose 20 newly extracted human noncarious unrestorated maxillar 1..molar tooth were used. Standard Class V type cavities were prepared on the buccal surface of teeth in the depth of 3 mm's, width of 5 mm's and height of 4 mm's. Hytac and Vitremer were used according to the instructions of the manufacturer firm and ultrasonic tips used to the enamel and cement margins afterwards. Specimens were investigated with using SEM. Ultrasonic scaling treatment observed to effect the marginal integrity negatively as a result.
