Abstract

The solubility behavior of the 'old' and the 'young' human dental enamel was evaluated by means of ionic products of artificially created lesions that were developed in lactate buffer system having partially saturation degrees. For the saturation of lactate buffer systems Ca and P ions were used as a solubility product of human enamel and F ions were used as cariostatic agent. The absorbents levels of Ca , Mg and P ions were calculated after 21 days. It was observed that the lesions in the old enamel were more demineralized than those in the young enamel. The results indicated that the old enamel should not necessarily be regarded as more resistant to acid attack than young enamel
