RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF SCHATZKER AND AO / OTA CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS FOR TIBIA PLATEAU FRACTURES BETWEEN RESIDENTS AND SPECIALIST PHYSICIANS OF ORTHOPEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY

Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability of the Schatzker and AO / OTA classifications between Orthopedics and Traumatology specialists and residents. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Twelve observers, six of them Orthopedics and Traumatology residents, six of them Orthopedics and Traumatology specialist were participated to the study. 60 tibial plateau fractures radiographs were sent via e-mail to the observers. They were asked to classify anteroposterior and lateral radiographs according to Schatzker and AO / OTA classification systems. RESULTS: In this study according to Schatzker and AO / OTA classifications reliability, only the Schatzker classification was observed to be moderate among the Orthopedics and Traumatology specialist. The AO / OTA classification was found to be fair reliability among the specialist physicians, residents and all physicians. CONCLUSİON: Schatzker classification system compared with the AO / OTA classification system, it is observed that the interobserver consistency is higher.

AMAÇ: Bu çalışmadaki amacımız Schatzker ve AO / OTAsınıflamalarının Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji uzmanları ve asistanlarıarasındaki güvenilirliği incelemektir.GEREÇ VE YÖNTEM: Çalışmaya altısı Ortopedi ve Travmatolojiasistanı, altısı ise Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji uzmanı olmak üzereoniki gözlemci katıldı. Gözlemcilerden elektronik posta yoluylagönderilen 60 tibia plato kırığı olan hastanın anteroposterior velateral radyografilerinin bulunduğu standart formları Schatzker veAO / OTA sınıflandırma sistemlerine göre sınıflamaları istendi.Bulgular: Bu çalışmada Schatzker ve AO / OTA sınıflandırmalarınagöre yapılan gözlemciler arası uyumda sadece Schatzker sınıflamasıuzman hekimler tarafından değerlendirildiğinde gözlemciler arasıuyumun orta düzeyde olduğu olduğu görülmüştür. AO / OTAsınıflamasının uzman hekimler arası, asistan hekimler arası ve tümhekimler arasında uyumunun düşük düzeyde kaldığı görülmüştür.SONUÇ: Schatzker sınıflandırma sistemi AO / OTA sınıflandırmasistemi ile karşılaştırıldığında gözlemciler arası uyumunun dahayüksek olduğu görülmektedir.
