Abstract
AIM: In today's technology age, the place of portable and easily accessible devices is increasing day by day. Technology plays an active role in the life of children as well as adults. In our study, it was aimed to determine the exposure times of children under the age of seven to mobile screens such as television, tablet or mobile phone. In our study, it was aimed to determine the use cases, usage application and presentation times of television, computer screens and mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets for 6-84 months age children. MATERIAL AND METHOD: This descriptive and cross-sectional study included 300 parents with children under the age of seven who applied to the Ankara Training and Research Hospital Family Medicine outpatient clinics between 1 June and 31 August 2017. The original questionnaire, which was prepared by the researchers and consisted of 15 questions to evaluate children's television and mobile screen exposure, was applied to the parents with a face-to-face interview technique. RESULTS: The number of children exposed to any screen such as television, computer, tablet or phone was 278 (92.7%). The average daily duration of screen exposure was found to be 186.2±132.2 (5-840) minutes. The number of children with their own tablets was 71 (23.6%). AMAÇ: Günümüz teknoloji çağında taşınabilir ve kolay erişilebilir aygıtların hayatımızdaki yeri her geçen gün daha da artmaktadır. Teknoloji, yetişkinlerin olduğu kadar çocukların hayatında da aktif rol almaktadır. Çalışmamızda, 6-84 ay arası çocuklar, çalışma televizyon ve bilgisayar ekranı ile akıllı telefon, tablet gibi mobil cihazlar kullanım durumları, kullanma başvurusu ve sunu kalma sürelerini tespit etmek amaçlandı. GEREÇ VE YÖNTEM: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel nitelikte olan bu çalışmaya, 1 Haziran-31 Ağustos 2017 tarihleri arasında Ankara Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Aile Hekimliği polikliniklerine başvuran 6-84 ay arası çocuğu olan 300 ebeveyn dahil edildi. Araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan, çocukların televizyon ve mobil ekran maruziyetini değerlendirmeye yönelik 15 sorudan oluşan, özgün anket yüz yüze görüşme tekniği ile ebeveynlere uygulandı.
