Abstract
Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency of depressive symptoms in Health School students with demographic characteristics, anemia, smoking, alcohol and drug use. Method: The study was carried out by the questionnaire prepared for health high school students after approval of the institutional permission and ethics committee in 2016-2017. Statistical analyzes were done by percentage analysis and t test using SPSS software. Results: In this study, depressive symptom frequency was determined as 40.6% according to the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) 17 cut-off point. It was determined that students who smoked, used alcohol, and had anemia had a significantly higher level of BDI scores than students without BDI scores. Conclusion: As a result, smoking, alcohol consumption and anemia may be related to depression.
