Abstract
Aim: In this study we aimed to assess how family doctors’ attitudes toward practicing defensive medicine were affected by patient complaints made to the departments for patient rights. Materials and Methods: The study based on face-to-face interviews included a total of 209 family doctors practicing medicine in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul. All participants were assessed using a 14-question survey including questions investigating personal characteristics and the Defensive Medicine Behavior Scale. Amaç: Çalışmamızda hasta hakları birimlerine gelen hasta şikayetlerinin aile hekimlerin defansiftıp uygulama tutumlarını nasıl etkilediğini değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışma İstanbul’un Kadıköy ilçesinde görev yapmakta olan 209 aile hekimi ile, yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirildi. Tüm katılımcılara Defansif TıpTutum Ölçeği ile kişisel özelliklerin sorgulandığı 14 soruluk bir anket uygulandı.Bulgular: Daha önce hastalarca şikayet edilmiş olan aile hekimlerinin hem pozitif hem de negatifdefansif tıp skorlarının diğer hekimlerinkinden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde daha yüksekolduğu görüldü (p
