Some Verses that Muhammad's Companions Faced with the Problem of Understanding

Abstract

There are pieces of information in sources about the Qur'anic understanding problems of the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad. Again in some studies, there is information about which verses they do not understand. However, these issues have not been evaluated in a study within the framework of integrity. Therefore, this article is being researched. This work will be done from the narrations in the tafsir and some other sources. The verses that the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad do not understand and the reasons they do not understand will be determined and these will be evaluated. When evaluating the verses, the order in Mushaf is based. Companions of Prophet Muhammed (a.s.) with various factors increased to an important position in tafsir. However, they had difficulty understanding some verses because it meant that it was incomprehensible. They did not hesitate to ask to Prophet Muhammed (a.s.) and his followers when they faced such a situation. In some narrations - if these narrations are true - it is explained that our Prophet did not understand a few verses and asked him about Gabriel. Meaning closeness in general is due to semantic structure of grammar and narrations. Their misunderstanding has sometimes caused problems between them. The Companions did not understand and sometimes misunderstood various verses for similar reasons; however, the proportion of verses in this way is very small compared to the next generations. Because they were the first interlocutors of revelation. For this reason, they have gained significant advantages in tafsir. Based on these advantages, they narrated their commentaries on the next generations. The generations who followed them also benefited. Thus, as a tradition, the principle of benefiting from the Companions has become an important acceptance of the commentary.

Sahabenin Kur’an’ı anlama sorunları hakkında kaynaklarda parçalar halinde bilgiler bulunmaktadır. Yine onların hangi ayetleri anlamadığına dair bilgilere de bazı araştırmalarda rastlanmaktadır. Fakat bu hususlar topluca bir çalışmada değerlendirilmemiştir. Bu nedenle bu makale araştırması yapılmaktadır. Bu çalışma tefsir ve diğer bazı kaynaklarda geçen rivayetlerden hareketle ortaya konacaktır. Rivayetlere göre sahabenin anlamadığı ayetler ve onların anlayamama nedenleri tespit edilecek ve bunlar üzerinde değerlendirme yapılacaktır. Ayetler değerlendirilirken Mushaf’taki sırası esas alınacaktır. Çeşitli etkenlerle sahabe tefsirde önemli bir konuma yükselmiştir. Bununla birlikte onlar, anlamı kapalı geldiği için bazı ayetleri anlamakta zorluk çekmişlerdir. Böyle bir durumla karşılaştıklarında Hz. Muhammed’e (a.s.) ve yanındakilere sormaktan çekinmemişlerdir. Bazı rivayetlerde -bu rivayetler sahih ise- Peygamberimizin de birkaç ayeti anlamadığı ve Cebrail’e sorduğu anlatılmaktadır. Ayetlerdeki kapalılık durumu genel olarak lafzın anlamsal yapısından, gramerden ve rivayetlerden kaynaklanmaktadır. Sahabe de benzeri nedenlerden dolayı çeşitli ayetleri bazen anlamamış bazen de yanlış anlamışlardır. Yanlış anlamaları bazen onların arasında sorun da çıkarmıştır. Ancak bu şekilde olan ayetlerin oranı sonraki nesillere göre çok azdır. Çünkü onlar vahyin ilk muhatapları olmalarından dolayı tefsirde önemli avantajlar elde etmişlerdir. Bu avantajlarına bağlı olarak tefsir mahiyetindeki açıklamalarını sonraki nesillere nakletmişlerdir. Onları takip eden nesiller de bundan istifade etmişlerdir. Böylece bir gelenek olarak sahabe tefsirinden yararlanma ilkesi tefsirin önemli bir kabulü haline gelmiştir.
