AN ANALYSIS ON THE BELIEF SYSTEM AND APPLICATIONS NEAR THE SHRINES AND TOMBS WITH REGARDS TO FOLKLORE II

Abstract

The tombs of the people such as saints, scientists and statesmen are visited for vari-ous reasons in Kütahya and its surround-ings as it is on every corner of our country. The main reason of being visited of these great people who are known with their re-ligious legends more than being a historical figure is their prominent functions. These functions can be mostly specific topics be-sides general topics. In this study, it is mentioned that shrines and tombs of Kütahya are visited for what purposes. The determined number of shrines and tombs in Kütahya is more than five hundred. Trees, water and stones around the tombs are also associated with these personages and they are enshrined as the reflection of spiritual power. The shrines and tombs of Kütahya are visited generally to make wishes to have child, to heal from illnesses, for welfare and peace, and to make a wish about the future and rain prayer. It is aimed to feel the sacred one, do charity work and relax psychologically with the applied practices during the visit. The belief that ancestry souls can help to living people lies behind the intense inter-est of the public to the shrines and tombs which can be accepted as visitation place.

Özet

Ülkemizin her köşesinde olduğu gibi Kütahya ve çevresinde de veliler, bilim ve devlet adamları gibi kişilerin kabirleri, çe-şitli nedenlerle ziyaret edilmektedir. Tarihi şahsiyetlerinden çok menkıbevi şahsiyet-leriyle bilinen ulu zatların ziyaret edilme- sinin başlıca nedeni, ön plana çıkan fonk-siyonlarıdır. Bu fonksiyonlar çoğu zaman genel konularda olabildiği gibi özel konu-larda da olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Kütahya ili türbe ve yatır-larının hangi amaçlarla ziyaret edildiği üze-rinde durulmuştur. Kütahya ilinde tespit edilen türbe ve yatır sayısı beş yüzün üze-rindedir. Türbe ve yatır çevresinde bulunan ağaç, su ve taşlar da buradaki zatlarla iliş-kilendirilmekte ve manevi gücünün yansı- ması olarak kutsal kabul edilmektedir. Kü- tahya ili türbe ve yatırları genellikle çocuk sahibi olmak, hastalıklarına şifa bulmak, refah ve huzur dilemek, geleceğe yönelik dileklerde bulunmak ve yağmur duası gibi nedenlerle ziyaret edilmektedir. Ziyaret esnasında uygulanan pratikler-le kutsalı hissetme, hayır işleme, psikolojikolarak rahatlama amaçlanmaktadır. Ziyaretmerkezi olarak kabul edilebilecek türbe ve yatırlara halkın yoğun ilgi göstermesinin temelinde, atalar ruhunun geride kalan ki-şilere yardım edebileceği inancı yatmakta-dır.
