Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the Ikhwan policy of Saudi Arabia in its historical context. This policy of Riyadh administration has been analyzed in the light of two fundamental variables i.e. regional power struggle and security of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In the context of regional power struggle, while Riyadh on one hand, takes Ikhwan as an integral element of balance of power to counter foreign threats, on the other hand, it perceives the organization as a serious threat to the stability and security of the Kingdom.
Özet
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı Suudi Arabistan’ın İhvan politikasını tarihselsüreç içerisinde incelemektir. Çalışmada Riyad yönetiminin geçmişten günümüzeİhvan politikası bölgesel güç mücadelesi ve rejim güvenliği olmaküzere iki temel değişken üzerinden analiz edilmiştir. Bu iki dinamiğe bağlıolarak Suudi yönetimi İhvan’ı bölgesel güç mücadelesi bağlamında dıştehditleri dengelemek için bir denge unsuru olarak görürken aynı zamandarejim güvenliği değişkeni bağlamında ulusal güvenlik tehdidi olarakalgılamıştır.
