A Study on Ârifî's Masnawi Named Kenzu'r-rumûz

Abstract

Some of the masnawis belonging to Turkish classical literature tradition were written under theinfluence of samples in Iranian literature. The fact that some classical Turkish literature poets translatedor interpreted the Persian masnawis, and again wrote commentaries on these masnawis, clearly showsthe influence in question. Among the masnawis translated from Persian to Turkish, the number of thosewho contain religious, sufi and morality issues is decidedly high. Turkish classical literature is significantfor understanding the proper relationship between sufism and classical Turkish poetry and for revealingthe decency of the works translated from classical Iranian literature into Turkish. In this article, the religious-sufi masnawi named Kenzu'r-rumûz written in Persian by EmirHüseynî Sâdât al-Gûrî al-Herevî and its Turkish translation with the same name, which has not beenthe subject of a scientific study before, will be introduced. The translation, which consists of 943 couplets,was written by a poet with the pseudonym Ârifî, and the only copy is in the Islamic ManuscriptsDepartment of the Leipzig University Library. After the "Introduction" part of the article, information will be given about Emir Hüseynî's life,works and his masnawi named Kenzu'r-rumûz. Next, Ârifî's translation named Kenzu'r-rumûz will bediscussed in terms of form, content, style and translation features and the place of this work in Turkishliterature will be examined.

Özet

Klasik Türk edebiyatı geleneğine ait mesnevilerin bir kısmı, İran edebiyatındaki numunelerin tesiri altında kaleme alınmıştır. Bazı klasik Türk edebiyatı şairlerinin Farsça mesnevileri tercüme veya şerh etmesi, yine bu mesnevilere nazireler yazması söz konusu tesiri açıkça göstermektedir. Farsçadan Türkçeye tercüme edilen mesneviler arasında dinî-tasavvufi ve ahlaki konuları ihtiva edenlerin sayısı oldukça fazladır. Dolayısıyla bu neviden mesneviler, tasavvuf ile klasik Türk şiiri arasındaki münasebetin anlaşılması ve klasik İran edebiyatından Türkçeye tercüme edilen eserlerin hüviyetinin ortaya konulması için büyük önem arz etmektedir.Bu makalede Emir Hüseynî Sâdât el-Gûrî el-Herevî tarafından Farsça kaleme alınan Kenzu’rrumûz adlı dinî-tasavvufi mesnevi ve bu mesnevinin daha önce ilmî bir çalışmaya konu olmamış aynı isimli Türkçe tercümesi tanıtılacaktır. 943 beyitten oluşan söz konusu tercüme, Ârifî mahlaslı bir şair tarafından kaleme alınmış olup tek nüshası Leipzig Üniversitesi Kütüphanesi İslam El Yazmaları Bölümünde bulunmaktadır.Makalenin “Giriş” bölümünden sonra Emir Hüseynî’nin hayatı, eserleri ve Kenzu’r-rumûz adlı mesnevisi hakkında malumat verilecektir. Ardından Ârifî’nin Kenzu’r-rumûz’u şekil, muhteva, üslup ve tercüme özellikleri bakımından ele alınarak eserin Türk edebiyatındaki yeri tespit edilmeye çalışılacaktır.
