A study on the problems faced by physical education teachers in their profession (An application of Kırşehir province)

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı; Kırşehir il ve ilçelerinde görev yapan beden eğitimiöğretmenlerinin görev yaparken meslekte karşılaştıkları sorunları; Okul yönetimi ilekarşılaşılan sorunlar, Okul ve fiziki şartlar ile karşılaşılan sorunlar, Öğretmenlerinaldıkları eğitim yönünden karşılaşılan sorunlar, Öğrenci ve ailesi ile karşılaşılan sorunlarve Strese neden olan sorunlar bakımından tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu2011 -2012 eğitim ve öğretim yılında, Kırşehir il ve ilçelerinde görev yapan toplam 84beden eğitimi öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Doğanay(2006 ) tarafından geliştirilen Problem tarama ölçeği kullanılmış olup, ölçeğin a lfagüvenirlilik katsayısı .71 dir. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizi bilgisayarda SPSS15 istatistik paket program ile yapılmış olup, Değişkenler arasında ilişki ve farklarda 0.05önem düzeyi dikkate alınmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda; Beden eğitimi öğretmenlerininmeslekte karşılaştıkları sorunların tespitinde puan ortalamalarına göre , tüm alt boyutlardaorta düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Cinsiyet değişkenine göre, Okul yönetimi ile ilgilisorunlar alt boyutunda anlamlı farklılığa rastlanırken , Kıdem değişkenine göre okul vefiziki şartlar ile ilgili sorunlar ve strese neden olan sorunlar alt boyutlarında anlamlıfarklılığa rastlanmıştır.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the problems faced by physical education teachers , who work in Kırsehir province and its districts, in their day -to -day working interms of problems faced in relation to School Management, problems in relation to theSchool and physical conditions, problems in relation to the training received by Teacher s,problems in relation to the Students and their families, and problems that lead to stress.The focus g roup of the study consists of84Physical education teachers who work inKırsehir and its districts during 2011 -2012 school year. Within the scope o f the study, Problem screening" scale, which is developed by Doğanay (2006) was used as a tool fordata collection, the alpha reliability coefficient of the scale is 71 . A package program wasused in analyzing the data obtained through the study and 0.05 significance level stoodout with regard to relation and differences among variables. In consequence of the study,the problems faced by gym teachers in their day -to -day working are found to be at anaverage level at all sub -dimensions according to the av erage points they got from thescale. According to the sex variable, while the problems relating to School Managementsub -dimension appear to have a s ignificant difference, there was no significantrelationship at sub -dimensions of problems in relation to School and physical conditions,problems in relation to trainings received by Teachers, problems in relation to Studentsand their families an d problems that lead to stress.
