Statistical to define the traffic accident risky provinces in Turkey

Abstract

In this study, according to the risk degree of the traffic accidents 80 provinces of Turkey has been grouped by using cluster analysis on 14 variables that are assumed as important in the existence of accidents. These groups are taken as the groups that will be used in the discriminant analysis of the problem and the correctness of grouping is investigated. And then the provinces are clustered according to thetraffic accident risk degrees. At the end of this study the cluster consisting of Ankara, Istanbul ve İzmir is determined as the clusterthat carries the most risk. If the existing groups are investigated traffic risk degree shows parallelizm to the improvement at the provinces. In the provinces that have the most risk, traffic denstiy show greater amount than the other and in the groups that contains the least traffic accident risk, the accidents occured because of the lack of the accident rigging.

Özet

Bu çalışmada Türkiye'deki 80 il, trafik kazalarındaki risk derecelerine göre, trafik kazalarının oluşumuna ve sonuçlarına etkili olduğu düşünülen 14 değişken yardımıyla kümeleme çözümlemesi kullanılarak gruplandırılmıştır. Ortaya çıkan gruplar çözümleme öncesi gruplar olarak alınarak diskriminant çözümlemesi gerçekleştirilmiş ve gruplandırmanın doğru yapılıp yapılmadığı araştırılmıştır. Daha sonra iller, trafik kaza risk derecelerine göre sınıflandırılmıştır. Çalışma sonunda Ankara ,İstanbul ve İzmir illerinin bulunduğu grubun en riskli grup olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Oluşan gruplar incelendiğinde trafik risk derecelendirilmesinin illerin gelişmişlikleri ile paralellik gösterdiği görülmüştür. Riskli illerde trafik yoğunluğunun diğerlerine göre daha fazla olduğu, trafik kaza risk derecesi düşük olan grupların yer aldığı illerde ise meydana gelen kazaların çoğunluğunun trafik donanımının eksikliği nedeniyle meydana geldiği ortaya çıkmıştır.
