Mullerian adenosarcoma of the uterus

Abstract

Müllerian adenosarcoma is a distinctive and uncommon type of mixed müllerian tumors of the uterus. Clinical and histopathological diagnosis of this tumor may be difficult. A47-year-old woman with cervikal mass and bleeding was admitted to the hospital and curettage was performed. As the histopathological findings were suspicious of atipical polypoid adenomyoma and/or adenocarcinoma she underwent total histerectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. On pathologic examination of the hysterectomy specimen, the tumor was diagnosed as adenosarcoma.Ten month later the patient is alive with no evidence of disease . Müllerian adenosarcoma have low malignant potential and may have clinical-pathological differential diagnostic difficulties. As a rare entity this case was presented and discussed in the light of the literature.

Özet

Müllerian adenosarkom, uterusun mikst müllerian tümörlerinin özellikli ve seyrek görülen bir tipidir . Klinik ve histopatolojik olarak ayırıcı tanısı zor olabilmektedir. Kanama ve servikal kitle yakınmasıyla hastaneye başvuran 47 yaşında kadın hastaya küretaj uygulanmış, atipik polipoid adenomyom ya da adenokarsinom ile uyumlu olabileceği histopatolojik sonucu üzerine, hastaya total histerektomi ve bilateral salpingo-ooferektomi yapılmıştır. Ameliyat materyelinde adenosarkom tanısı konulmuştur. Hasta klinik takipte ve 10. ayın sonunda hastalıksız sağlıklıdır.Müllerian adenosarkom olguları düşük de olsa malignite potansiyeline sahip ve klinik-patolojik tanı sorunu yaratabilen tümörlerdir. Olgu, ender görülmesi nedeniyle literatür bilgileri ışığında tartışılarak sunulmuştur.
