ACTIVITIES OF TRADERS FROM SIIRT ACCORDING TO ERZURUM CUSTOMS BOOKS (1825-1826)

ERZURUM GÜMRÜK DEFTERLERİNE GÖRE SİİRTLİ TÜCCARLARIN FAALİYETLERİ (1825-1826)

Abstract

The aim of this study is to make an assessment on the activities of the traders of Siirt, who are engaged in trade in Erzurum and its surroundings. Historical document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. The data of the study are composed of Erzurum Customs Books. These historical documents, which consist of fifteen books in total, were kept by Erzurum customs officers on a monthly and daily basis. Work; In line with the information obtained from the Erzurum customs records of 1825 and 1826, it is important in terms of revealing the names of the traders of Siirt, the origin of the commodity subject to their trade, the tax amounts per item and the ratio of this amount in the customs revenue.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı Erzurum ve çevresinde ticaret ile meşgul olan Siirtlitüccarların faaliyetleri üzerine bir değerlendirme yapmaktır. Araştırmada nitelaraştırma yöntemlerinden tarihi doküman inceleme tekniği kullanılmıştır.Çalışmanın verilerini Erzurum Gümrük Defterleri oluşturmaktadır. Toplamda onbeş defterden müteşekkil olan bu tarihi vesikalar, Erzurum gümrük memurlarıtarafından ay ve gün hesabıyla tutulmuştur. Çalışma; 1825 ile 1826 yıllarına aitErzurum gümrük kayıtlarından elde edilen bilgiler doğrultusunda iç ticarete dâhilolan Siirtli tüccarların isimlerini, ticaretlerine konu olan emtianın orijinini, kalembaşında alınan vergi miktarlarını ve bu miktarın gümrük hasılatı içerisindekioranını ortaya koyması bakımından önem arz etmektedir
