Abstract

Since 2005, the Ministry of National Education has started to renew its teaching programs regarding constructivist education. The philosophy curriculum was renewed in 2009 in line with this understanding. This research aims to analyze the renewed 2009 Philosophy Course curriculum in terms of different taxonomies. Having a qualitative research design, the study used document analysis. The research population consists of the acquisitions available in the 2009 Philosophy Course curriculum. The taxonomic analysis of the acquisitions in the Philosophy Teaching Program has been conducted through following criteria; cognitive domain taxonomy developed by Bloom, Engelhart, Furst, Hill and Krathwohl; the affective domain taxonomy developed by Krathwohl, Bloom and Masia and the psychomotor domain taxonomy developed by Simpson. Research results have revealed that 49 out of the total 58 acquisitions that are included in the curriculum of the Philosophy Course are in the cognitive domain taxonomy. Among the acquisitions that are related to cognitive domain taxonomy, 10 of them are at the level of know, 24 are comprehend, 8 are analyze and 7 are evaluate. Also, 9 of 58 acquisitions are included in the scope of affective domain taxonomy, yet these acquisitions are free from psychomotor domain taxonomy. The obtained results have been discussed with the related literature and recommendations have been provided
