Heyde's syndrome

Abstract

Heyde's Syndrome which is associated with calcific aortic stenosis and gastrointestinal bleeding is very rare disease. Because of its rarity there are quite a few literatures about Heyde's Syndrome. The pathophysiologic link between aortic stenosis and gastrointestinal bleeding is still unknown. Seventy years old male patient admitted to our department with a complaint of dyspnea and chest pain. After the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease and aortic valve disease, the patient underwent coronary artery bypass grafting and aortic valve replacement with biologic prosthesis. During the first postoperative day, the patient had a gross gastrointestinal bleeding. After endoscopic examination and selective mesenteric angiography, we examined the postoperative period of the patient.

Özet

Heyde Sendromu, kalsifik aort stenozu ve gastrointestinal kanama ile seyreden ve oldukça nadir görülen bir hastalıktır. Aort stenozu ile gastrointestinal sistem kanaması arasındaki ilişkinin tam olarak bilinmemesi ve oldukça nadir görülmesi nedeni ile Heyde Sendromu ile ilgili olarak çok az sayıda literatür mevcuttur. Kliniğimize nefes darlığı ve göğüs ağrısı şikayeti ile müracaat eden 70 yaşındaki erkek hastaya yapılan tetkikler sonucu iskemik kalp ve aort kapak hastalığı tanısı koyarak aortokoroner bypass ve biyoprotez aort kapak replasmanı uyguladık. Postoperatif 1. günde ileri derecede gastrointestinal sistem kanaması sebebi ile yapılan endoskopi ve selektif anjiyografi sonucu çekumda anjiyodisplazi tespit edilerek Heyde Sendromu tanısı konulan hastanın postoperatif dönem tedavi ve takibini inceledik.
