Abstract

Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (ankylosinghyperostosis, Forestier s disease, spondylitis ossificansligamentosa) is a chronic disease characterized by thewidespread spinal osteofit formation due to enchondralossification of paravertebral ligament and muscles.Treatment is primarily based on dietary changes andanti-inflammatory therapy in diffuse idiopathic skeletalhyperostosis patients suffering from dysphagia. Surgeryshould be considered in patients with a severe clinicalstatus. In this article, we report three patients and discussthe diagnosis and treatment in the light of literature.
