Abstract
Samuel Beckett is one of the most important representatives of the Theatre of the Absurd which is cosidered as the expression of the negative effects and devestation that World War II brought on humanity. Beckett s play Waiting for Godot has been regarded as one of the major examples of the Theatre of the Absurd in history of theatre. The play attracted attention in the world and its effects have been seen since it was written. Samuel Beckett s play Waiting for Godot has also effected the Turkish theatre. The main aim of this study is to show the relation between Beckett s Waiting for Godot and Ferhan Şensoy s Güle Güle Godot published in 1993 and also Cahit Atay s Godot yu Beklemezken published in 1994. And also in this study relation between the source text and the writers perception of the source text will be determined.
Özet
Samuel Beckett, II. Dünya Savaşının beraberinde getirdiği yıkımın insanlık üzerindeki olumsuz etkisinin dışa vurumu olarak kabul edilen absürd tiyatronun önemli temsilcilerinden biridir. Beckettin Godotyu Beklerken oyunu ise tiyatro tarihinde absürd tiyatronun önemli örneklerinden biri olarak kabul görmüştür. Bu oyun yazıldığı tarihten itibaren dünya genelinde çok fazla ilgi çekmiş ve tesirlerinin günümüzde de devam ettiği görülmüştür. Samuel Beckettin Godotyu Beklerken isimli oyununun Türk tiyatrosuna da etkisi söz konudur. Bu çalışmanın temelinde Samuel Beckettin ve Godotyu Beklerken isimli oyununun Türk tiyatrosuna etkisini gösteren iki ayrı eser yer almaktadır. Ferhan Şensoyun 1993 yılında yayımlanan Güle Güle Godot ve Cahit Atayın 1994 yılında yayımlanan Godotyu Beklemezken isimli oyunları ile Samuel Beckettin oyunu arasındaki bağın açığa çıkarılması çalışmanın temel amaçlarındandır. Bu bağlamda okunacak eserlerin kaynak metin ile ilişkisi ve yazarların kaynak metni nasıl algıladığı/yorumladığı tespit edilmeye çalışılacaktır.
