An Index Case of Diffuse Alveolar Hemorrhage Secondary to Chikungunya

Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is an alphavirus transmitted by mosquitoes, mostly by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. It is starting tobecome a very common entity in Pakistan, with a wide range of clinical manifestations. Here we report a case of a young male withCHIKV who presented with a clinical manifestation of diffuse alveolar hemorrhage which has not been observed so far in a patient suffering from this illness.
