Analysis of 69 cases with gastric carcinoma

Abstract

In this retrospective study, 69 cases with ad¬vanced gastric carcinoma in Edirne region were studied clinicopathologically. Male to female ratio was 2,1 and their mean age was 60,9 (±10.6) years. Forty five percent of cases was within 7th decade and 84% of cases was over 50 years. Stump cancer rate was 2,89% The most frequent symptoms were epigastric pain and weight loss. The median duration of symptoms were 2.5 (0.1-24) months. Location of tumors were 58% in corpus, 29% in antrum and 26% in cardia. Rates of Borrman's types I and TV were found 62% and 29%, respectively. Lauren's diffuse type was 50%, intestinal type was 36%. Ming's infiltrative type was 73% and "expanding" type was 27%. There was no age difference beetwen histopatholo-gic types. Male to female ratio was 1,3 in diffuse type and 5,6 in intestinal type. Borrman's type I was more frequent in Lauren's intestinal and Ming's "expanding" types. Rate of stages was 5% for II, 27% for III and 68% for TV. A significant correlation was not found beetwen stage and age, sex, duration of symptoms, location and macroscopic and microscopic types of tumors. Corpus was the most frequent location of gastric corcinomas. Carcinomas of the cardia and diffuse type of Lauren were increased when compared with the previous 6-year period.

Edirne yöresindeki 69 mide kanserli (MK) olgu kli-nikopatolojik özelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla retros¬pektif olarak değerlendirildi. E/K oranı 21, ortalama yaş 60,9 yıldır. Olguların %45'i 7. dekadda, %84'ü 50 yaşın üzerindedir. "Stump" kanseri oranı %2,89'dur. Ağrı ve kilo kaybı en sık yakınma olup yakınmaların or¬tanca devam süresi 2.5 (0.1-24) aydır. Olguların %58'inde korpus, %29'unda antrum, %26'sındakardiya tutulumu mevcuttur. Borrman tip I %&2, tip IV %29 oranındadır. Lauren sınıflamasına göre %50'si diffüz, %36'sı intestinal, %14'ü karışık tiptir. Ming sınıflama¬sına göre %73'ü infiltratif, %27'si "expanding" tiptir. Histopatolojik tipler arasında yaş farkı yoktur. E[K oranları diffüz tipte 1,3; infiltratif tipte 1,7; intestinal tipte 5,6 ve "expanding" tipte 6,5'tir. Borrman tip I in¬testinal ve "expanding" tiplerde daha sıktır. TNM sınıf¬lamasına göre evre II %5, evre III %27, evre IV %68 ora¬nındadır. Evre ile yaş, cinsiyet, yakınma süresi, tümö¬rün yeri makroskopik ve mikroskopik tipler arasında ilişki saptanmamıştır. Sonuç olarak, korpus MK'nin en sık yerleşim yeridir. Kardiya kanserleri ve Lauren in diffüz tipi önceki 6 yıllık döneme göre artmıştır.
