Comparing of the efficacy of antacid and combination of antacid and H2RA on active nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding

Abstract

Four hundred ninety patients with nonvari¬ceal upper Gl bleeding were evaluated. Two hundred and seventy patients received a combination of AA and H2 receptor antagonist and 270 patients received only AA. The mean bleeding time was 1.8 days in the com¬bined therapy group and 1.7 days in the AA group. The mean transfusion requirement was 3.3 U in the first group and 3.6 U in the second group. The differences were not significant considering the bleeding time and transfusion requirement.

Özet

490 varis dışı aktif üst gastrointestinal sistem ka¬namalı hasta değerlendirildi. Hastaların 270'ine'AA ve H2 reseptör antagonisti kombinasyonu, 220'sine yalnız¬ca AA verildi. Kombine tedavi grubunda ortalama ka¬nama süresi 1.8 gün, AA grubunda 1.7 gündü. İlk grup¬ta ortalama transfüzyon ihtiyacı 3.3 ünite, ikinci grupta 3.6Ü idi. AA ile AA+H2RA kombinasyonu arasında ka¬nama süresi ve kan transfüzyon ihtiyacının azalması bakımından anlamlı bir fark bulunamadı.
