Abstract

In this study, we evaluated the ultrasono¬graphic (US) findings of 104 patients, who were diag¬nosed as hepatic cirrhosis by biochemical, ultrasono-graphical, endoscopical and histopathological examinations. In 14 (13.4%) patients, parenchymal ech-ogenity changes and contour irregularity, in 78 (75%) additionally portal hypertension findings as ascites, portal and I or splenic vein dilatation and splenomegaly were found. In 9 (8.7%) cases, the only pathological US finding was fatty liver pattern. No pathological US finding was observed in 3 (2.9%) cases.
