A case of renal oncocytoma with concomitant cavernous hemangioma which was diagnosed by fine needle aspiration biopsy

Abstract

A 55 years old female patient was admitted to our clinic with a 2 years history of right hypochondrium and left shoulder pain. Ultrasonography and CT scan examinations showed a solitary mass in the left lobe of the liver and left kid¬ney. Initially, a renal tumor metastasising to liver was conside¬red. Preoprative percutaneous fine needle aspiration biopsy with ultrasonography from liver and kidney documented a he¬mangioma and oncocytoma , respectively. These findings were confirmed postoperatively. This is the first case repart of the as¬sociation of oncocytoma and hepatic hemangioma. These case clearly documented that fine needle aspiration biopsy in experi¬enced hands is a useful tool and time saving procedure for the prompt diagnosis of renal and hepatic masses.

Özet

Son iki yıldır genelde sağ hipokondrium ve sağ omuzda lokalize olan, nadiren epigastriuma yayılan ağrı şikayetiyle servisimize müracaat eden hastada yapılan ultrasonografik ve tomografik incelemede karaciğer sol lob ve sol böbrekte kitle tesbit edildi. Mevcut bulgularla hastada böbrekten kaynakla¬nan ve karaciğere metastaz yapan malign tümör düşünüldü. Ancak preoperatif ultrasonografi eşliğinde yapılan perkutan in¬ce iğne aspirasyon biyopsisinde (1ÎAB) karaciğerdeki kitle he-manjiomla, böbrekteki ise son derece nadir görülen ve benign bir tümör olan onkositoma ile uyumlu bulundu. Preoperatif ta¬nı postoperatif bulgularla da doğrulandı. Yaptığımız literatör taramasında hemanjiomla beraber olan onkositoma vakasına rastlamadık. 1İAB nin tecrübeli ellerde böbrek ve karaciğerin solid lezyonlannda son derece güvenilir bir tanı yöntemi ol¬duğu kanısındayız.
