Abstract
This study examined the influence of arginine vasopressin (AVP) on gastric mucosal lesions arising in rats exposed to restraint-cold stress. AVP and vasopressin V1 receptor antagonist were injected intraperitoneally (i.p.) and rats were exposed to restraint-cold stress for five hours. Rats saved from stress were decapitated and their stomachs examined. Gastric mucosal lesions which occurred due to stress were considered as ulcer scores. It was observed that gastric mucosal lesions were reduced when i.p. exogenous AVP was administered but, V1 antagonist administered in the same way did not prevent gastric mucosal damage. In another group of rats, we examined the extent to which our stress model changed plasma AVP concentrations and found that it increased these levels. Our findings indicate that exogen AVP reduces gastric mucosal lesions.
Özet
Sıçanlarda soğuk-kısıtlama stresi nedeniyle gastrik mukozal hasar oluşumunda arginin vazopressin (AVP)'in periferik etkisi araştırıldı. AVP ve vazopressinin V1 reseptör antagonisti, intraperitoneal (i.p.) yolla enjekte edilerek sıçanlara 5 saat soğuk-kısıtlama stresi uygulandı. Stresten çıkarılan sıçanlar dekapite edilerek mideleri incelendi ve oluşan gastrik mukozal hasarlar ülser skorları şeklinde değerlendirildi. Eksojen AVP i.p. olarak uygulandığında gastrik mukozal hasarın azaldığı gözlendi. Bulgularımız eksojen AVP'in gastrik mukozal hasar oluşumunu azalttığını göstermektedir.
