The Outlook of Global Energy Sources and Energy Security Problem

Abstract

Energy, which is one of the most basic inputs needed by countries in economic development and growth processes, maintains its importance, in parallel with the increasing world population historically. Supply of security in energy has been a frequently discussed problem in the literature due to the fact that especially energy crises have caused serious global problems in the historical process. The aim of this study is to show the state of global energy resources and to measure the security of countries' energy supply through some basic indicators. In the study, it was found that Europe and the Asia Pacific region have a deficit in energy trade uninterruptedly, while the Middle East and Africa, the Asia Pacific region and the Commonwealth of Independent States countries have a surplus in energy trade uninterruptedly. In this sense, especially in recent years, it has been understood that the problem of supply security in energy has deepened in certain regions of the world.

İktisadî kalkınma ve büyüme süreçlerinde ülkelerin ihtiyaç duyduğu en temel girdilerinden biri olan enerji, tarih boyunca artan dünya nüfusuna paralel olarak önemini sürdürmektedir. Tarihsel süreçte özellikle enerji krizlerinin ciddi küresel sorunlara yol açması nedeniyle literatürde enerjide arz güvenliği sıklıkla tartışılan bir sorun olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı küresel enerji kaynaklarının durumunu göstermek ve bazı temel göstergeler aracılığıyla ülkelerin enerjide arz güvenliğini ölçmektedir. Çalışmada Avrupa ve Asya Pasifik bölgesinin kesintisiz olarak enerji ticaretinde açık verdiği, Orta Doğu ve Afrika, Asya Pasifik bölgesi ve Bağımsız Devletler Topluluğu ülkelerinin ise kesintisiz enerji ticaretinde fazla verdiği saptanmıştır. Bu anlamda özellikle son yıllarda enerjide arz güvenliği sorununun dünyada belirli bölgelerde derinleştiği anlaşılmıştır.
