Analyze of the Impacts of the Brexit Process on the Economy of UK and Turkey in the context of Foreign Trade

Brexit Sürecinin Birleşik Krallık ve Türkiye Ekonomilerine Etkilerinin Dış Ticaret Bağlamında Analizi

Abstract

The United Kingdom (UK) decided to leave the European Union (EU) in a nationwide referendum on 23 June 2016. As result of the negotiations between EU and UK, the European Parliament approved the withdrawal agreement and the UK officially left the EU as of January 31,2020. The Brexit process is a turning point not only for the UK, but also for the whole world. In the study, the underlying causes of the Brexit and the Brexit process were examined. Furthermore, the impacts of the Brexit process on the economy of UK and Turkey was analyzed in the context of foreign trade.

Özet

Birleşik Krallık (BK), 23 Haziran 2016 tarihinde ülke genelinde yapılan bir referandumla Avrupa Birliği’nden (AB) ayrılma kararı almıştır. AB ile BK arasında yapılan müzakereler sonucunda, Avrupa Parlamentosu’nun geri çekilme anlaşmasını onaylamasıyla BK, 31 Ocak 2020 tarihi itibariyle AB’den resmen ayrılmıştır. Brexit süreci sadece BK için değil, aynı zamanda tüm dünya için de bir dönüm noktasıdır. Çalışmada, Brexit’in altında yatan nedenler ve Brexit süreci incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, Brexit sürecinin Birleşik Krallık ve Türkiye ekonomileri üzerine etkileri dış ticaret bağlamında analiz edilmiştir.
