Relations of Export Revenues and Public Investment Expenditures in Various Sectors: Example of Level 1 Regions in Turkey

İhracat Gelirleri İle Çeşitli Sektörlere Yapılan Kamu Yatırım Harcamaları İlişkisi: Türkiye’de Düzey 1 Bölgeleri Örneği

Abstract

In Turkey, as in most developing countries, the foreign trade deficit was stand between the economic problems from the past to present. Increasing export revenues can be used as an effective tool in closing the foreign trade deficit. In this direction, the aim of the study is to investigate the effect on export revenues of public investment expenditures in various sectors. To achieve this aim, panel data econometric method will be used in the study. Among the sectors considered to have an impact on export revenues and included in the research; Public investment expenditures in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, energy, transportation-communication, tourism, education and health sectors are included. According to the results of the analysis, significant relationships were found between public investment expenditures in some sectors and export revenues.

Özet

Dış ticaret açığı çoğu gelişmekte olan ülkede olduğu gibi Türkiye’de de geçmişten günümüze ekonomik sorunlar arasında yer almaktadır. Dış ticaret açığının kapatılmasında ihracat gelirlerini arttırmak etkili bir araç olarak kullanılabilir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın amacı ihracat gelirleri ile çeşitli sektörlere yapılan kamu yatırım harcamalarının ilişkisini araştırmaktır. Bu amacı gerçekleştirmek için çalışmada ekonometrik model olarak panel veri yöntemi kullanılacaktır. İhracat gelirleri üzerinde etkisi olabileceği düşünülen ve araştırmaya dâhil edilen sektörler arasında; tarım, madencilik, imalat, enerji, ulaştırma-haberleşme, turizm, eğitim ve sağlık sektörlerine yapılan kamu yatırım harcamaları yer almaktadır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre bazı sektörlere yapılan kamu yatırım harcamaları ile ihracat gelirleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiler tespit edilmiştir.
