Abstract

Hungarian director Márta Mészáros, born in 1931, has witnessed tragedies of the 20th century, and her films reflect those tragedies. In the 1980s, through her autobiographical diaries, she recorded the pressures of the political regimes in Hungary on her personal life. Diary for My Loves (1987), the second film of her diary series, tells of the oppressive political atmosphere in the 1950s through the narrator Juli’s eyes. In this study, Juli’s personal adventure and the social events of the period that form a basis for her adventure are analysed as an alternative example of historiography in the axis of autobiographical and collective memory.

Özet

1931 doğumlu Macar yönetmen Márta Mészáros, 20. yüzyılın travmalarına yaşamı ve filmleriyle tanıklık etmiş, 80’li yıllarda çektiği otobiyografik Günceler serisinde, siyasal rejimin ve tarihin kendi yaşamındaki izdüşümüne odaklanmıştır. Serinin ikinci filmi olan Sevgililerime Günce, 1950’ler Macaristan’ındaki gergin siyasal atmosferi, Juli’nin gözlerinden anlatır. Bu çalışmada söz konusu film, Juli’nin kişisel serüveninin ve bu serüvene zemin oluşturan toplumsal gerçekliklerin, iç içe geçen otobiyografik ve kolektif hatırlama pratikleri ekseninde tarih yazımına örnek oluşturduğunu göstermek amacıyla niteliksel bir çözümlemeye tabi tutulmuştur.
