Abstract

Orbital metastasis from the cervical carcinoma is an extremely rare event. To date, only six such cases have been reported in the English literature. Despite the fact that cervical cancer is the commonest malignancy in Indian women, no case of orbital metastasis from this malignancy has been reported from India. This case report presents a 46-year-old woman with stage I-B, squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix, who developed a solitary metastatic lesion in the right orbit, six months following initial treatment for her primary disease. The orbital lesion responded completely to the palliative radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
