Abstract
This study aimed assess the expression of p53 and Ki-67 antigen and to evaluate its relation with the other prognostic parameters in pure and partial type of invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast in thirty two cases. Immunohistochemical staining was performed for p53 and Ki-67 antibodies. Statistical analysis was performed for comparing the expression of p53 and proliferative activity index with tumor size, Iymph node metastasis, estrogen and progesterone receptor status and c-erbB-2 expression in pure and partial invasive micropapillary carcinoma. In our series, there was no correlation of Ki-67 and expressions between tumor size, Iymph node metastasis, estrogen receptor (ER) status, progesteron receptor (PR) status, and c-erbB-2 expressions (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between the cases of pure invasive micropapillary carcinoma and the cases of partial invasive micropapillary carcinoma for tumor size, Iymph node metastasis, ER and PR status and c-erbB-2 expressions (p>0.05).
