Middle lobe torsion following right upper lobectomy

Abstract
Here we report a case of right middle lobe torsion following a right upper lobectomy for adenocarcinoma of the right lung. Diagnosis was achieved with serial chest x-rays, CT of thorax and rigid bronchoscopy. Re-thoracotomy and middle lobectomy was performed at third postoperative day. Because lobar torsion is one of the complications following lung resection and often results in gangrene, therefore maintaining a high level of suspicion is the most important factor for the diagnosis.

Bu makalede sağ akciğer adenokarsinomu nedeniyle sağ üst lobektomi sonrası orta lob torsiyonu gelişen bir olgu sunulmaktadır. Seri akciğer grafileri, bilgisayarlı tomografi ve rijid bronkoskopi ile tanı konulan hastaya, postoperatif üçüncü günde retorakotomi ile orta lobektomi uygulandı. Akciğer rezeksiyonlarından sonra görülen komplikasyonlardan biri olan ve çoğu kez gangren ile sonuçlanan lober torsiyonun her zaman hatırda tutulması, tanı açısından en gerekli unsurdur.
