The concept of disaffiliation in Robert Castel

Abstract

In this article devoted to Robert Castel, we are interested in the concept of disaffiliation that the author preferred to that of exclusion. Through this concept, Robert Castel shows us that there is a similarity of positions between the vagabonds of pre-industrial societies, the proletarians of capitalist societies and the precarious populations of liberal societies, and the disaffiliated are the outcome of a process whose origin should be sought at the center of societies. Thus, disaffiliation points out a situation in which these individuals find themselves discarded from the networks of the production of wealth and social recognition.

Robert Castele adanan bu makalede yazarın dışlanmaya tercih ettiği mensubiyet yitimi kavramı ele alınmaktadır. Bu kavram aracılığıyla Robert Castel bize sanayi öncesi toplumların serserileri, sanayi toplumlarının proleterleri ve günümüzün liberal toplumlarının prekaryası arasında bir benzerlik olduğunu göstererek mensubiyetini yitirmişliğin bir sürecin sonucu olduğunu ve kökeninin toplumların merkezinde aranması gerektiğini belirtmektedir. Böylelikle, mensubiyetini yitirme kişilerin kendilerini zenginliklerin üretildiği ve toplumsal tanınmanın gerçekleştiği ağlardan uzaklaştırılmış olarak bulduğu bir konuma işaret etmektedir.
