Abstract
One of the main policies in the first years of the Republic was laicism. Laicism policy was especially used to regulate relation between religion and the state and society. In this framework, religion was taken under state supervision through the Directorate of Religious Affairs. The main purpose was to prevent movements that were against the laicism and different interpretations of religion. However, it was not only these movements and interpretations that were blocked. At the same time, it was possible to see positivist interpretations against the religion and insulting and provocative actions were prevented.

Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında izlenen temel politikalardan biri laikliktir. Bu politika özellikle dinin devlet ve toplum ile ilişkisini düzenlemek için kullanılmıştır. Bu çerçevede din, Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı vasıtasıyla devletin kontrolüne alınmış ve denetlenmiştir. Temel amaç, laiklik karşıtı eylemlerin ve dinin farklı yorumlarının önüne geçmektir. Ancak engellenen sadece laiklik karşıtı eylemler değildir. Aynı zamanda dine karşı pozitivist yorumlar ile dini rencide ve tahkir eden eylemlerin de men edildiğini görmek mümkündür.
